During a BBC career spanning 20 years Emma went from documentary director, to Head of Development for Science, TV Controller Factual Commissioning and Director of Digital Transformation for BBCTV.  She cares passionately about the power of content to make a positive difference.

 

Career highlights

As Head of Development Emma transformed the BBC Science department – makers of Walking with Dinosaurs and The Human Body – gaining an unprecedented number of commissions. She led the $33m BBC/Discovery JV, enabling a raft of global landmarks including Planet EarthSeven Wonders of the Industrial World, and Supervolcano. As BBC TV Controller Factual Commissioning, leading a team across all factual genres, hits included Bake OffOur WarWoundedAfricaStar-gazing and Lambing Live. As Director of Digital Transformation, she devised an ambitious ‘content first, platform second’ strategy for scripted and non-scripted including making BBC i-Player a first destination for all audiences.
